"Because some conversations are worth hearing"

Hearing is an important aspect of our communicative lives and quality of life.  We depend upon hearing conversations of those we love (and even don't know/don't love).   It is vital to hear and understand what is said in order to respond appropriately or intelligently.  The complex hearing system can easily be damaged due to genetic involvement, noise exposure, aging, etc., and when that happens, a hearing loss occurs.

Hearing aids are often a necessity, as a result.  So, we are in the business of testing your hearing and clarifying the information on hearing loss and hearing aids for you, while performing incredible customer service. We have the friendliest and most knowledgable staff we know of, and the difference will be seen the moment you call or step through our door. You are treated as family, for that is what we consider you. You have a home at Lakeland Professional Hearing Center.

Lakeland Professional Hearing Center Inc.

Can't Understand In Background Noise?  Hear but not understand?

Understanding and hearing are two seperate problems. Most age-related or noise-related hearing losses affect the understanding of speech, where people can hear just fine, but words are just not clear.  "Everyone mumbles," is often what I hear. New digital signal-processing technology and improved digital noise filters have helped to create the best hearing aids yet.

Digital technology allows for much finer sound differentiation and selectivity. For instance, digital technology can tell the difference between speech and background noise, allowing one in while helping to filter out the other. No hearing aid is perfect, unfortunately, but they are better than they've ever been due to the newest technology on the market     .
